Roy E. Rodgers, the son of the late John W. and Freeda Powell Rodgers, was born in Essex, Missouri on April 22, 1948, and passed away near Wappapello, Missouri on February 16, 2007, at the age of 58 years, 9 months and 24 days.
He had lived in Wappapello, Missouri most of his life. He was truck driver and worked for Delta Asphalt in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. He is a member of the Wappapello VFW Post 3416 and the Eagles Aerie #4066 in Wappapello, Missouri. He enjoyed four wheeling, fishing and hunting.
Surviving are two daughters, Tammy Rodgers and Rita Rodgers both of Advance, Missouri; one grandson, Matthew Rodgers; one granddaughter, Kelbie Rodgers; two brothers, Dennis Rodgers of Wappapello, Missouri, Jimmy Rodgers of Titus, Alabama; three sisters, LaVerne Snider of Wellsville, Missouri, Rita Corlew of Hemet, California, and Ocia Bryant of Wappapello, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive.
Friends may call on Monday, February 19, 2007, after 6:00 P.M. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at 10:00 A.M. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Rev. Sam Brotherton of Wappapello, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri in charge of all arrangements. Full military rites will be conducted by the Stoddard County Veteran's Honor Team.
