Rosie Imogene Gromer, the daughter of the late Calvin and Pearl E. Flynn Williams, was born in Marshall, Arkansas on May 22, 1930, and passed away at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri on August 9, 2009, at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 18 days.
Mrs. Gromer had lived in Southeast Missouri all her life. She was a member of the Word of Faith Church in Bernie, Missouri. She was a wonderful and loving mom and grandmother and will be missed by family and friends.
On December 21, 1946, she was married to Harold E. Gromer. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2005.
Surviving are one son, Roger Gromer of Bernie, Missouri; three daughters, Connie Gromer, Charlotte (Jerry) Yates, and Janie Gromer all of Bernie, Missouri; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Christine Clay of New Orleans, Louisiana. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by six brothers: Pervia, Troy, Verl, Chester, Willard and Roy Williams and five sisters: Ruby Cullum, Beulah Watkins, Eulah Williams, Bertha Fielder and Nellie Robertson.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Bro. Dale Hartle of Bernie, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
