Rosa Allen, daughter of the late John Elect and Minnie Ola Rootz Shelton, was born in Malden, Missouri on May 12, 1922, and passed away at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield, Missouri on November 5, 2012, at the age of 90 years, 5 months and 24 days.
She had moved to the Aid Community in 1959, where she lived until moving into an area nursing home. She was of the Protestant Faith.
On October 17, 1957, she was married to Floyd Allen. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2012.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas W. Morrison of Zalma, Misouri, James E. Morrison of Arnold, Missouri; one step-son, Kenny Allen of Portland, Oregon; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Russell Shelton of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and David Shelton of Dexter, Missouri. Other family and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by eight brothers, Everett, Bill, Wesley, Ralph, Howard, John, Charlie and Homer Shelton; and four sisters, Sallie Hampton, Agnes Blake, Ruby Kitrell and Mable Snider.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, after 10:00 a.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Dale Holman of Advance, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
