Ronnie Lee Stanford, son of the late Almon Earl and Joy Montez Marsh Stanford, was born in Melbourne, Arkansas on January 4, 1947, and passed away at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri on January 19, 2009 at the age of 62 years and 15 days.
Mr. Stanford had lived in Bloomfield and Dexter most of his life. Ronnie was retired from the Stoddard County Sherriff's Department after 13 years of service where he worked as a jailer. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. Ronnie enjoyed listening to and playing bluegrass music, riding his motorcycle and camping.
Surviving are two daughters and son in law, LaRhonda and David Billingsley and Kristi Jo Hockman all of Dexter, Missouri; three grandchildren, Victoria Hockman, Eric Billingsley and Aaron Billingsley all of Dexter, Missouri; two brothers, Richard Earl Stanford of Batesville, Arkansas and Gary B. Stanford of Dexter, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 22, 2009, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2009, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. James Todd of Bernie, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
