On August 3, 2024, the world lost a beloved soul as Ronna Jean Houchins went to be with the Lord in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Born on September 13, 1955, in Dexter, Missouri, to Howard Crider and Peggy Sue (Thomas ) Crider.  Ronna left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Ronna dedicated her life to caring for others as a homemaker in home healthcare. Her nurturing spirit shone brightly through her work and touched the lives of many. She was known for her personality - she never met a stranger and had a heart full of love for everyone she encountered. She was a member of New Hope Full Gospel in Dexter, Missouri, where she loved to serve and worship.

In her free time, Ronna found joy in the simple things - she adored visiting flea markets and cherished moments spent with her family. Being a "grandma" to every child who crossed her path brought her immense happiness. Ronna also found solace in hard work and took pride in contributing to the family farm.

Ronna married her soulmate and love of her life Larry G. Houchins on October 18, 1971, in Sikeston, Missouri.  Ronna and Larry met as children and quickly grew to be sweethearts with a love that lasted a lifetime.

Ronna leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be carried on by those she held dear. Among those mourning her loss are her husband, Larry G. Houchins; two sons, Larry W. and Christi Houchins of Wappapello, Missouri and Franklin Lynn Houchins of Bloomfield, Missouri; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers: Jim, Ken, and Tim Crider; one sister, Kim Crider-Gore; two special nieces, Brandi Morris and Chantelle White; as well as numerous children who affectionately called her "Grandma."  ; and a host of family and friends also survive.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and sister Cindy Billingon.

The memory of Ronna Jean Houchins will forever remain etched in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing such a compassionate and loving soul.
