Roger Allen Clay, son of Betty Jo Bailey Clay and the late Posey Franklin "Leon" Clay, Jr., was born in Sikeston, on September 27, 1955, and went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2013, at The Manor in Poplar Bluff at the age of 57 years.
He had lived in Sikeston most of his life and had lived in Poplar Bluff the past two years. He had worked as a carpenter and at the Sikeston Gas & Water Dept. and was a member of the Smith Avenue Church of God in Sikeston.
Surviving are one son, Joshua Rodgers Clay of Sikeston; four daughters, Amy Michelle Clay of Essex, Brook Rodgers Clay and Angella Davis both of Sikeston, Lyndy Clay of Savannah, Georgia; 4 grandchildren; his mother, Betty Jo Clay of Greenville; one brother, Bryan Clay of Sikeston; two sisters, Debra Clay Standridge of Sikeston and Karen Clay Rodgers of Greenville. Other relatives and friends also survive.
Private family services will be held at a later date with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
