Robert "Jack" Wilson, son of the late Charlie Monroe and Bertha Lillian Miflin Wilson was born in Clarkton, Missouri on December 14, 1924, and passed away at his home in Puxico, Missouri on August 7, 2009, at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 24 days.
Mr. Wilson had lived in Puxico since 1960 after living in Morehouse and Dexter. He was a member of the Puxico Church of Christ. He and his wife owned the Wilson Five and Dime and operated the Wilson Pump Service until his retirement. He had also worked for Burge Electric for several years. He was a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed hunting, riding horses and watching boxing and the St. Louis Cardinals. His most enjoyable time was spent with the grandsons.
On March 26, 1949 he was married to Betty High in Piggott, Arkansas
Surviving are his wife, Betty Wilson of Puxico, Missouri; two daughters and sons in law, Debbie Jane (Jackie) Foster and Tammy Kay (Brian) Franklin both of Puxico, Missouri; three grandsons and spouses, Shaun Robert (Jo) Foster, Jerry Lee (Cristen) Foster and Ryan Franklin; two great grandchildren, Dana Foster, Hannah Foster and Lily Foster due in September; one brother, James Wilson of Salcedo, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survives. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Lena Hutson and three other sisters, Corda Key, Frieda Morgan and Florene Morgan; and two brothers, John Wilson and Paul Powers.
Friends may call on Sunday, August 9 , 2009, after 5:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 10, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri with Bro. Keith Sandlin of Poplar Bluff, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Puxico City Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
