Robert Daniel "Rob" Watkins, the son of Marsh Watkins and the late Bobbie Lucius Watkins, was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on December 6, 1958, and passed away at the Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri on January 25, 2008, at the age of 49 years, 1 month and 19 days.
Rob had lived in Dexter most of his life. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy where he served as a recovery diver, had worked on tug boats in New York Harbor, for Budget Mobile Homes, and for Harty Construction in Dexter, Missouri.
Surviving are his partner and care giver, Sherry Burnett of Dexter, Missouri; his father and step-mother, Marsh and Dixie Watkins of Dexter, Missouri; one brother and sister-in-law, Michael & Angela Watkins of Dexter, Missouri; step-daughter and son-in-law, Brandy & Brian Rogers of Dexter, Missouri; step-son, David Burnett of Dexter, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kenton David Sanders, Sydney Lea Rogers, David Lee Burnett II, Seth Daniel Rogers; and nephews, Cory, Trevor, Alex, and Nathan Watkins; step-brothers, Joey and Brian and step-sister, Kim. Many other relatives and friends also survive. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill and John Kevin Watkins and his twin, Richard T. Watkins.
Friends may call on Monday, January 28, 2008, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Janaury 29, 2008, at 11:00 AM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Mike Bien of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors conduced by the Navy and American Legion Post 59 of Dexter, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
