Robert C. Blackler of Dexter, son of Bessie Blackler and the late George Curtis Blackler, was born in Hannibal on May 14, 1947, and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff on January 26, 2020, at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 12 days.
He had lived in California before moving to Dexter over twenty years ago. He had worked as an AT&T Technician and had driven a school bus for the Dexter School System. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was an amateur radio operator, a member of the American Legion, the NRA and loved guns.
He was first married to Judy Ward, she preceded him in death on March 24, 2003. On October 29, 2005, he was married to Sarah Stockman in East Prairie.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah Blackler of Dexter; three daughters and husbands, Kelly & Ralph Woodall of Missouri, Brandi & Nathan Schwarz of Kansas, Vicki & Brad Craft of Missouri; two sons and wife, Skylor Guess of Arkansas, Nicholas & Crystal Marines of Kansas; twenty grandchildren; one great grandchild; three brothers, Curtis Blackler of Oklahoma, David Blackler of California and Danny Blackler of Missouri. Other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by two sons, Chad & James Curtis Blackler and one grandchild, Jonah Schwarz.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020, after 10:00 am at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter until time of services at 12:00 pm with Bro. Skylor Guess of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas officiating.
Interment will follow at the Chalk Bluff Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
