Robbie Brigance Janis, the daughter of the late Elisha and Mary Floyd Lowery, was born in Arkansas on August 21, 1917, and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on October 21, 2006, at the age of 89 years and 2 months. Mrs. Janis was a homemaker and had lived in Poplar Bluff for many years. She was a member of the Little Brown General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. On February 10, 1934, she was married to Jess F. Brigance at Dexter, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1990. On September 10 1992, she was married to Paul Janis in Poplar Bluff who also preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters: Janice (Charles) Selvidge and Brenda (Paul) Barker both of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers, Curtis (Norma) Lowery of Dexter, Missouri, E. J. Lowery (Jean) Phoenix, Arizona, James Leonard (Ruby) Lowery of Arnold, Missouri; and one sister, Thelma Crouse (Ken) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter in infancy, Janell Brigance. Friends may call after 1:00 PM on Monday, October 23, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 23, 2006, at 3:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Willis Smith of Poplar Bluff, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
