Rachel Smith

Rachel Smith Rachel Smith, daughter of the late William Jacob and Mary Anna Fortner Williamson, was born in Clines Island, Missouri on August 4, 1918, and passed away at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on March 23, 2013, at the age of 94 years, 7 months and 19 days. She had lived in Dexter, Missouri since 1933. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter. She loved to garden, crochet, and quilt. On August 5, 1939, she was married to Rev.Chester C. Smith. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2006. Surviving are two sons, Chester J. Smith of Rockville, Virginia, Jimmie D. Smith of Dexter, Missouri; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; one brother, one sister, Jean DeJournett of Essex, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Smith in December, 2003, five brothers, Marion, Bob, Parvin, Marvin and Bill Williamson and two sister, Lorene Barker and Ruth Fulkerson. Friends may call after 1:00 PM on day, March 25, 2013, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 25 , 2013, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Triplett Cemetery near Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
