Pierce Burton

Pierce Burton, Jr. Pierce Burton, Jr. son of the late Pierce Burton, Sr. and Murl Margaret Carter Burton, was born in Knoxville, Arkansas on May 31, 1927, and passed away at the Ozark Mountain Healthcare Facility in Crane, Missouri on October 6, 2012, at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 6 days. He lived most all his life in the southeast Missouri area before moving to Crane several years ago. He was of the Pentecostal Faith. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was married to Nina Laree Carney on November 10, 1978. She preceded him in death on January 23, 1999. Surviving are two sons: Ken Burton of Saltillo, Mississippi and Paul Burton of Salt Lake City, Utah. Three daughters: Kay Fitzgerel of Salt Lake City, Utah, Pam F. Davis and Terri Matlock both of Galena, Missouri. Eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. One sister, Jewell Cox of Paducah, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by one son: John Craig Burton, one brother: Harold Burton and one sister: Pauline Pixley. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri. Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM on Wednesday October 10, 2012 at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with full Military Honors.
