Paul Jerome Findley, the son of the late Emmett and Mae Ramsey Findley was born in Russellville, Arkansas on November 9, 1917, and passed away at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on May 28, 2007, at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 19 days.
Mr. Findley had lived in Lepanto, Arkansas before moving to Essex, Missouri in 1945. He was a farmer and was a member of the Bird's Corner Assembly of God Church.
On October 23, 1937, he was married to Zelma Boyd in Leachville, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on November 5, 2005.
Surviving are one daughter, Betty Mott of Essex, Missouri; one granddaughter, JoAnn Holt of Essex, Missouri; one great granddaughter, Tiffanie Holt of Essex, Missouri; one brother, Ted Findley of Dacula, Georgia; six sisters, Sybil Ragsdale of Memphis, Tennessee, Orpha McGarrity of Peoria, Arizona, Opalene Hartsfield of Conway, Arkansas, Jean Tilley of Plano, Texas, Helen Brown of Essex, Missouri, and Margie Harbin of Savannah, Tennessee. Many other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry and James Warren Findley; four brothers, Jack, Bobby, Pleas, and Freddie Findley; three sisters, Sonea Creel, Gladys Brinkley and Mildred Boyd.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2007, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Dale Gregory of Puxico, Missouri, Rev. James Johns of Greenbriar, Missouri and Rev. Mike Brown of Sikeston, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
