Opal Marie Duncan, daughter of the late Oscar Newton and Fanny Har Brazzeal, was born in Scott County, Missouri on September 3, 1915, and passed away at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on December 1, 2007, at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 28 days.
Mrs. Duncan had lived most of her life in Southeast Missouri. She was a seamstress and was retired from the International Shoe Company. She was a member of the Grayridge Baptist Church.
She was first married to Eugene Haskins, he preceded her in death. She then married Rube Duncan in Essex, Missouri and he also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one sister, Gladys Tarrants of Loveland, Florida, many nieces and newphews. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Bunch, three brothers, Earl, Lester, and Marven Brazeal, and four sisters, Lilliam Walker, Lorraine Wyatt, Lucille Johnson and Cleo Deck.
Friends may call on Tuesday, December 4, 2007, after 11:00 A.M. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Doyle Corlew of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
