Opal J. Borders, the daughter of the late Bartie and Myrtle Merritt Wise, was born near Bernie, Missouri on February 22, 1930, and passed away at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on April 4, 2009, at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 13 days.
Mrs. Borders the Southeast Missouri most of her life and had lived in Sikeston, Missouri the past 45 years. She was of the Protestant faith.
On September 3, 1965, she was married to Gerald Borders in Mississippi.
Surviving are her husband, Gerald Borders of Sikeston, Missouri; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary W. & Darla Craft of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharion & Keith Turman of Bernie, Missouri; one step-daughter, Darletta Fijal of Warrnesburg, Missouri; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and one brother, Clarence Ray Wise of Federal Way, Washington. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Craft and one brother, Walter Wise.
Graveside Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 6, 2009, at 1:00 PM in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with the Steven Tippen officiating.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
