Norma Gean Stroup of Bloomfield, daughter of the late Henry and Martha Cates Phillips, was born in the Buckhorn Community, Missouri on November 22, 1926, and passed away at her home near Bloomfield, Missouri on January 1, 2020, at the age of 93 years, 1 month and 10 days.
She had lived in Bloomfield & Aquilla all of her life. She had worked at Elder's as a seamstress for 46 years. She was a member of the St. Joe General Baptist Church in Idalia.
On September 18, 1943 she married June Lendon Stroup in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2004.
Surviving are two sons and wives, Jerry & Yolonda Stroup of Lowndes, Harvey & Marla Stroup of Bloomfield; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Menley and three brothers, Floyd, Ernest and Marvin Phillips.
Friends may visit on Friday, January 3, 2020, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at 11:00 am at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Underwood of Shady Dale, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow at the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
