Norma Jean Overbey, the daughter of the late Everett and Hettie Kenworthy, was born in , Missouri on September 9, 1927, and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on May 16, 2009, at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 7 days. She had lived in Dexter, Missouri for many years before moving to Puxico twelve years ago. She had worked at Lucas Florist and Nicken's Pharmacy before her retirement and had been a member of the Assembly of God Church in Dexter, Missouri for many years. On May 27, 1945, she was married to Truitt Overbey in Dexter, Missouri. He preceded her in death in August of 1957. Suviving are two daughters and son in law, Sandra & Art Norris of Puxico, Missouri, Dana Craig of Dexter, Missouri; three grandsons, Justin Norris of Clarksdale, Mississippi, John Craig of Madison, Wisconsin, Paul Craig of Dexter, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Will and Elizabeth Norris; and one sister, Kathryn Blythe of Dexter, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends survive to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Myrlee Kinworthy and one sister, Virginia Harris. Friends may call on Sunday, May 17, 2009, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 18, 2009, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Arthur Norris of Puxico, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
