Norma Jolena McBride, the daughter of the late Silas Marion and Minnie Viola Hartline Crain, was born in Bernie, Missouri on March 31, 1918, and passed away at Missouri Southern Healthcare facility in Dexter, Missouri on March 8, 2007, at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 8 days. Mrs. McBride had lived in Bernie, Missouri until moving to Dexter in 1952. She was retired from Elders Manufactuing where she was a seamstress. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri. On March 28, 1937, she was married to Hughy S. Kitchens. He preceded her death on April 17, 1943. On April 6, 1947, she was married to Charles Leon McBride. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1986. Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-laws, Charles "Jug" and Pauline McBride and Bill and Joyce Kitchens both of Dexter, Missouri; one daughter and son-in-law, Marla Kay and Richard Bailey of Dexter, Missouri; one sister, Lula Gaines of Dexter, Missouri; five grandsons and wives, Terry Kitchens, Larry Kitchens, Aaron and Misty Mcbride all of Dexter, Missouri, Paul and Julie Bailey of California, Missouri and John and Kim Bailey of Rochport, Missouri, two granddaughters and husbands; Regina and Johnny Brown and Amy and Jay Pyle all of Dexter, Missouri, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rheta and Dora Crain and five brothers, Albert, Ralph, Harry, Rufus and Coy Crain. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Saturday, March 10, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2007, at 2:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Mike Watkins of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
