Myrtle Smith

Myrtle Flora Smith, daughter of the late George Lee and Minnie Pearl Alexander Matthews, was born February 13, 1919, in Bernie, Missouri and passed away at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield, Missouri on January 11, 2010, at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 29 days.. Mrs. Smith had lived in the Bloomfield area all her life. She was a member of the Church of Christ. On November 9, 1935, she was married to Kermit Alvin Smith in Puxico. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1999. Surviving are one son, Ray Smith of Festus, Missouri; one daughter, Doris Barnes of Dexter, Missouri; three granddaughters; one grandson; two step grandsons; one step granddaughter; seven great grandsons; two great granddaughters; three step great-grandsons; two step great granddaughters; one great great grandson; one sister, Wilma Spickelmier of Washington, Missouri; and one brother, Ralph Leon Matthews of Grandin, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. Preceding her in death, one daughter, Delores Mae Smith; two sisters, Willa Lee and Betty June Matthews; one brother, George Lee Matthews, Jr. Friends may call on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 14, 2010, at 11:00 AM in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri with Bro. Dale Grissom of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
