Joy McQuary, the daughter of Anza Gregory Henderson and the late Ray Bennett Henderson, was born near Parma, Missouri on April 9, 1934, and passed away at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter, Missouri on September 3, 2006, at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 25 days.
Joy was raised in Dexter, spent many years in Malden and moved back to Dexter in 1980. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Dexter..
She was first married to Clarence "Froggie" Kilmer on November 24, 1950, in Dexter, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1975. On February 20, 1992, she was married to Dwight McQuary in Piggott, Arkansas.
Surviving are her husband, Dwight McQuary of Dexter, Missouri; her mother, Anza Henderson of Dexter, Missouri; four daughters, Karen Hoehn and Sharon Deen both of Malden, Missouri, Judy Leet of Eureka, Missouri, Joanie Greer of Bella Vista, Arkansas; three step-sons, Mark and David McQuary both of Tallahassee, Florida, John McQuary of Hawaii; one sister, Caryl Clippard of Dexter, Missouri; six grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Other friends and relatives also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Henderson.
Friends may call on Tuesday, September 5, 2006, after 9:30 A.M. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2006, at 11:00 A.M. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Louie Lowe of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
