Mozell Shaw, the daughter of the late William and Annie Ruff McKeller, was born in New Madrid County, Missouri on March 29, 1930, and passed away at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri on January 5, 2008, at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 7 days.
Mrs. Shaw had lived most of her life in the Parma and Essex communities and had lived in Malden, Missouri since 1988. She was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Malden, Missouri.
On September 1, 1948, she was married to James Shaw in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2004.
Surviving are three sons, Bennie J. (Geneva) Shaw of Elkhart, Indiana, Elmer J. (Mary) Shaw and Oscar L. Shaw both of Malden, Missouri; five daughters, Bernice Dennis (Cleveland) Taylor of Essex, Missouri, Elsie (Charles) Hester of St. Louis, Missouri, Fanny (James) Farr, Alfreda (James) Peel and Dorothy Shaw all of Malden, Missouri; 30 grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Harriet Hill of Essex, Missouri and Mary Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son: Lee A. Shaw on September 13, 2003, and two children in infancy, one great grandson, Morris, Neal, Jr., three sisters, Ethel McKeller, Essie McKeller, Arlena Holloway, three brothers, Henry, William, & Martin McKeller; one son-in-law, Cleveland Taylor and one sister-in-law, Grace L. Wynn.
Friends may call at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri on Saturday, January 12, 2008, after 11:00 A.M.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2008, at 12:00 P.M. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Cleveland Brown of Malden, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri is in charge of arrangements.
