Millie Jarrell, the daughter of the late William and Myrtle Pittman James, was born in Zalma, Missouri on June 12, 1921, and passed away at the Beverly Health and Rehab Center in Dexter, Missouri on September 10, 2006, at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 29 days.
She had lived in Zalma and Puxico, Missouri before moving to Dexter in 1968. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter.
On August 19, 1938, she was married to John W. Jarrell. He preceded her in death on August 10, 1977.
Surviving are one son, James W. Jarrell of Dexter, Missouri; two grandsons, Melvin Jarrell of Bloomfield, Missouri, Jimmy Jarrell of Puxico, Missouri; six great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; two brothers, Wilbert and Lee Roy James both of St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters, Beulah Kesterson of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Modine Kitchen of Denver, Colorado. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marylin M. Jarrell, two brothers, Hubert and Billie James and one sister, Della Bess.
Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 12, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at 2:00 P.M. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Rev. Louie Lowe and Rev. Roy Sherfield both of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
