Mildred Marie Moore, the daughter of the late John Elva and Louisa Burlison Cookson, was born in Puxico, Missouri on September 27, 1920, and passed away at her home in Puxico, Missouri on July 25, 2009, at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 28 days.
Mrs. Moore had lived in Puxico, Missouri all her life. She and her husband had owned Moore's Bait Shop and she had served as the Postmaster of the Mingo Post Office. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church and the W.M.U where she had helped with the children and the Christmas Plays.
On May 22, 1942, she was married to Carmon Moore in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1995.
Surviving are two sons and daughter in law, Garey & Cheryl Faries and Gerland Moore both of Puxico, Missouri; six grandchildren, Troy Faries, Joey Faries, Wesley Faries, Sherry Trout, Glenn Hodge and Jamie Hodge; fifteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchilden. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Dwayne Moore, two sisters, Evelyn King, Arushia Lynch and one brother John Cookson.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at 10:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Bro. Gary Burns of Advance, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
