Michael T. Harlan, son of Michael M. and Debra A. Dougherty Harlan, was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on March 31, 1985, and passed away in Hawaii on January 13, 2013, at the age of 27 years.
He had lived in Gray Ridge all his life. He graduated from Richland High School and Southeast Missouri State University. He was an active member of the U. S. Army and had just enlisted for the second time.
On March 16, 2012, he was married to Monika Vankova in Prague, Czech Republic.
Surviving are his wife; Monika Harlan of Hawaii; his parents, Michael & Debra Harlan of Gray Ridge; one brother, Tommy J. Harlan of Gray Ridge; three sisters, Melody Sherfield of Gray Ridge; Diane Bardol of Jackson, and Deedra Gardner of Mesa, Arizona. Five special nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 23, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 24, 2013, at 3:00 PM at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Interment with full military honors will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with a U. S. Army Chaplain conducting the services. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
