Merlin Mason

Merlin Ray Mason, son of Vera Mae Bess Mason and the late Harvey L. Mason, was born near Advance, Missouri on March 22, 1943, and passed away at the Kindred Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri on July 28, 2013, at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 6 days. Mr. Mason had lived most of his life in Dexter, Missouri and had worked in the Dairy Business, retiring in 2009. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter. On June 22, 1963, he was married to Phyllis Davis near Bell City, Missouri. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Mason of Dexter; two sons and spouses, Tim & Donna Mason of Dexter, Chris & Janet Mason of Arnold; five grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Elliott, Jackson, Riley, Mabree and Davis Mason; his mother, Vera Mason of Bell City; one brother and spouse, Ronald & Jan Mason of Sikeston. Other in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends survive. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Kenny Qualls of Fenton, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
