Meredith L. Capps, the daughter of the late Tom and Lucetta Black Morris, was born near Dexter, Missouri on March 9, 1926, and passed away at the Westwood Hills Health Care Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on January 23, 2006, at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 14 days.
She had lived in Bloomfield and Dexter all her life. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Dexter, Missouri.
On February 19, 1950, she was married to Carl Norman Capps in Hornersville, Missouri.
Surviving are her husband, Norman Capps of Dexter, Missouri; one daughter, Brenda Johnson of Washington, Missouri; one son, Larry Capps of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, four grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Wilma Allen of Raytown, Missouri, and Ruby Lee of Hornersville. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Winchester; three brothers, Walter, Lester, and Gova Morris.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 25, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Vaughn Wright of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
