Mayola Gibson
Mayola Gibson, the daughter of the late Richard and Effie Adeline Jerls McCamish, was born in Bernie, Missouri on February 25, 1928, and departed this life at the Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas on December 29, 2004, at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 4 days.
She was a former resident of Dexter, Missouri before moving to St. Louis, Missouri in 1969, she then moved to Desoto, Texas in 1978 until her passing. She attended the Assembly Of God Church in Mesquite, Texas before she became ill.
On October 22, 1944, she was united in marriage to Charles Gibson in St. Louis, Missouri. To this union three children were born.
Surviving are her husband: Charles Gibson of Desoto, Texas, her children: Michael Gibson of Knoxville, Tennessee, Pamela Gibson of Mesquite, Texas and Mark Gibson of St. Louis, Missouri, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, three sisters: Velva Robisky of Dallas, Texas, Evelyn Robinson of Jackson, Missouri and Martha Duffie-Reynolds of Bernie, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by other than her parents one sister: Melba Thurston and one brother: James Richard McCamish.
Friends may call at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday January 1, 2005, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2005, at 2:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Bro. Ron Dunavin of Bernie officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri with Martha Duffie-Reynolds, funeral director, and Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
