Maxine Tharp

Maxine Tharp, the daughter of the late Preston Wood and Bertha Mills Wood, was born in Leachville, Arkansas on March 3, 1930 and passed away at the Heritage Nursing Home in Kennett, Missouri on December 2, 2006, at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 20 days. Mrs. Tharp was a former resident of Risco, Missouri but had lived in Parma, Missouri the 15 years. She was of the Pentecostal faith. On December 22, 1948, she was married to Prentice "Shorty" Tharp in Craighead County, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1997. Surviving are 2 sons: Billy Wayne Tharp of Batesville, Arkansas and Jerry Don Tharp of Parma, Missouri, 1 daughter: Donna Jackson of Pearland, Texas, 2 brothers: Bill Wood of Gary, Indiana and Harold Wood of Poplar Bluff, MIssouri, 3 sisters: Mary Palmer of Bernie, Missouri, Bonnie McDonald of Malden, Missouri and Joyce Yarbourgh of Kennett, Missouri, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Friends may call from 12:00 noon till 1:00 PM on Monday, December 4, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 4, 2006, at 1:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Parma, Missouri with the Rev. Maxwell Lewis of Bernie, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Parma, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
