Maxine Lemons Maxine Lemons, the daughter of the late Herman Adam and Dottie Nothdurft Maisel, was born in Perryville, Missouri on November 23, 1923, and passed away at her home in Dexter, Missouri on April 24, 2009, at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 2 days. Mrs. Lemons had lived in Dexter most all her life. She worked for many years as a shipping clerk for Elders Manufacturing in Dexter. She attended church at the Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter. After retirement she worked as a volunteer at the Stoddard County Gospel Mission. She was awarded Yard Of The Year eight times and won Christmas Yard Of The Year several times. She was married to William Russell Lemons on December 6, 1941. He preceded her in death in April 1997. Surviving are one son Bill Lemons of Dexter, Missouri. Two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two sisters Evelyn Boyd of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri and Verla Klaus of Friedheim, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Friends may call on Monday, April 27, 2009, from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at 10:00 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Adam Mueller of Cape Girardeau, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
