Maxine Harper, the daughter of the late Ben and Blanche Stanberry Stroud, was born in Wayne City, Illinois on January 9, 1930, and passed away at the Sikeston Convalescent Home in Sikeston, Missouri on March 3, 2007, at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 22 days.
Mrs. Harper had lived in Morehouse, Missouri most of her life. She had worked at the International Shoe Factory and National Lock in Sikeston, Missouri.
In 1964, she was married to Eugene Harper in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Surviving are her husband, Eugene Harper of Morehouse, Missouri; one sister, Betty Patterson of Laguna Hills, California, and several nieces and nephews. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lee Stroud, Carl Stroud, Roy Stroud, and four sisters, Elsie Jones, Margaret Simmons, Thelma Manning and Lillian Simmons.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at 1:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Morehouse, Missouri with the Rev. Frank Breeden of Morehouse, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Morehouse, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
