Maudie Mae Burns, daughter of the late Roy Ottie and Myrtle Era Glenn Hoosier, was born in Clines Island, Missouri on December 27, 1915, and passed away at her home in Bloomfield, Missouri on October 2, 2007, at the age of 91 years, 9 months and 5 days. Mrs. Burns had lived in the Blooomfield area all her life. She had retired as a seamstress with Elders Manufacturing. On May 14, 1932, she was married to Howard Leonard Burns in Clines Island, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1986. Surviving are one daughter, Pansy Lanzendorf of Grand Island, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Steven Wilson of Seattle, Washington, Donna Barber of Brighton, Tennessee, Jeannie Trammell of Dexter, Missouri; five great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one sister, Viola McQueen. Friends may call on Thursday October 4, 2007, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Graveside services will be held on Friday October 5, 2007, at 1:00 PM at the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with the Rev. Karen Oldham of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
