Maryel Neal, the daughter of the late Forrest Willard and Elsie Hileman Sherrard, was born in Royal Oaks, Michigan on May 24, 1930, and passed away at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee on January 31, 2007, at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 7 days.
Mrs. Neal had lived in Morehouse most of her life before moving to Clarksville, Arkansas in 1981, to be near family. She had worked as an LPN and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morehouse and member of the Rebecca Lodge of Sikeston, Missouri.
On November 14, 1953, she was married to Raymond Neal. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1980.
Surviving are two daughters, Paula K. Johnson of Clarksville, Arkansas and Myrtle Lee Neal-Hendrix of West Memphis, Arkansas; one son, O. A. Smith of Covington, Tennessee; nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one sister, Dortha Lee Sherrard.
Friends may call from 1:00 to 2:30 PM on Sunday, February 4, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2007, at 2:30 PM at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse, Missouri with Kevin Hendrix of Olive Branch, Mississippi officiating.
Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Morehouse, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
