Mary Alma Woodruff Mary Alma Woodruff, the daughter of the late John Anderson and Nancy Florence Godwin Lawrence, was born near Essex, Missouri on January 1, 1917, and passed away at the Cypress Point Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri on October 6, 2008, at the age of 91 years, 9 months and 5 days. She had lived in the Essex and Dexter area and she worked for many years at the Brown Shoe Company. She was a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri. On October 20, 1934, she was married to George Woodruff in Essex, Missouri. Surviving are her husband: George Woodruff of Dexter, Missouri. One Son: Gene Woodruff of Dexter, Missouri. One niece: Marilyn Grubbs. Five Grandchildren and Eight Great-Grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She is preceded in death by one son: Jerry L. Woodruff and one sister: Edith Larock. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday October 8, 2008, at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter Missouri. Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at 11:30 AM at the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with the Rev. John Armbruster officiating.
