Mary E. Welker

Mary E. Welker, the daughter of the late William B. Henson and Eartie Hammond Henson, was born in Avert, Missouri on February 5, 1927, and passed away at her home near Bell City, Missouri on January 1, 2007, at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 24 days. Mrs. Welker was a homemaker and had lived near Bell City for most of her life. She was a member of the Life Tabernacle Church in Bell City, Missouri. On April 29, 1967, she was married to Bill Welker in Oran, Missouri. Surviving are her husband: William A. Welker of Bell City, Missouri, one son: Jimmie L. Henson of Oran, Missouri, two daughters: Shirley A. McClard and Sharon K. Elliott both of Jackson, Missouri, one brother: Samuel Henson of Advance, Missouri, ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2007, at 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Rev. Ed Carter of Oran, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Aquilla, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
