Mary Smith

Mary M. Smith, the daughter of the late John M. and Henrietta Fager Gribler, was born in McGee, Missouri on July 7, 1921, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on December 1, 2008, at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 25 days. Mrs. Smith had lived in the McGee community all her life. She was a member of Wappapello VFW Post 3416. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and raising chickens. On December 2, 1939, she was married to Henry Alvin Smith. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1985. Surviving are two sons, Virgil Smith of Doniphan, Missouri, Richard Smith of McGee, Missouri; two daughters, Ruby Siemer of Shook, Missouri, Ruth Carver of Wappapello, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister, Betty Gribler of Lowndes, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Friends may call on Tuesday December 2, 2008, after 5:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Bro. Larry Underwood of McGee, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the McGee Cemetery in McGee, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements
