Mary Lou Parsley, the daughter of the late Robert Vanscyoc and Ruby Buchanan Vanscyoc, was born in Asherville, Missouri on January 3, 1929 and passed away at her residence near Puxico, Missouri on November 4, 2006, at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 1 day. Mrs. Parsley had lived in the Puxico area most of her her life. She was a member of Duck Creek Baptist Church near Puxico for 51 years. Her hobbies included bird watching, gardening and singing. On January 8, 1949, she was married to Donald Parsley in Piggott, Arkansas. Surviving are her husband: Donald Parsley of Puxico, Missouri, three sons and daughter-in-laws: Allen and Pam Parsley, Edward and Peggy Parsley all of Puxico, Missouri and William and Becky Parsley of Dudley, Missouri, two daughters and a son-in-law: Diane and Richard Hawthorne of Puxico, Missouri and Margie Franklin of St. Clair, Missouri, twelve grandchildren, four sisters: Emma June Shy of Texas, Saundra Ann Clark and Chuckie Edwards both of Asherville, Missouri and Bobbie Kennedy of Wappapello, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother: Gene Vanscyoc. Friends may call after 4:00 PM on Monday, November 6, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 7, 2006, at 11:00 AM at the Duck Creek Baptist Church near Puxico, Missouri with Rev. Ralph Mayes of Poplar Bluff, , Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Duck Creek Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
