Mary Bell Hancock, daughter of the late Claude and Ollie Caroline Wells Barber, was born in Lepanto, Arkansas on August 13, 1917, and passed away at her granddaughter's home in Lebanon, Tennessee on February 21, 2010, at the age of 92 years, 6 months and 8 days.
She had lived in Missouri most of her life. She was a member of the Dudley Church of God.
She was married to William L. Hancock in 1935 and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son and daughter in law, Edgar L. & Joyce Hancock of Dudley, Missouri; two daughters and son in law, Mary Louise & Jim Harrington of Flint, Michigan, Joyce Ann Slinkard of Marble Hill, Missouri; daughter in law, Dorothy Hancock of Orange Park, Florida; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-seven great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; one brother, Albert Frields of Dexter, Missouri and one sister, Marie Fowler of Illinois. Other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by two sons, William "Bill" Hancock, Richard "Dick" Slinkard; one daughter, Patsy Henson; one sister, Mae Hampton and two brothers, A. C. Frields and Paul Frields.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 23, 2010, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Services will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at 10:00 AM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Gene Robbins of Grassey, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Dudley Cemetery in Dudley, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
