Mary Gromer, daughter of the late Ernest and Addie Mason Gromer, was born in Marquand, Missouri on August 29, 1932, and passed away at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri on May 18, 2015, at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 19 days.
She had lived in Dexter most of her life and had worked at Swift & Company, the International Hat Factory and worked at the Crowley Ridge Care Center before she retired. She had attended the Sweet Prospect General Baptist Church in Dexter.
Surviving are three brothers & wives, Cecil & Margaret Gromer of Columbia, Missouri, Charles Gromer of Jackson, Missouri, Allen & Norma Gromer of Union, Missouri; a niece that was her care giver, Tracey Gromer of Dexter. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Edwards, Virgie Allen, Annie Pruett; and three brothers, Howard, Alva D. and Harold Gromer.
Friends may visit on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at 11:00 am at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Dean Williams of Dexter officiating.
Interment with be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
