Mary Evelyn Carter

Mary Evelyn Carter of Puxico, daughter of the late Robert Harrison and Leora Mayfield Arnold, was born in Kinder, Missouri, on June 1, 1931, and passed away at the Puxico Nursing Home in Puxico, Missouri on March 31, 2018, at the age of 86 years, 9 months and 30 days.

Mary had lived in St. Louis and moved to Puxico 34 years ago. She had worked at McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis and had been a waitress in Fenton, Missouri. She enjoyed being outdoors working in her yard and garden and her pets.

She was married to Raymond Carter in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are one sister, Wanda Ross of Melbourne, Florida. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by one son, Larry Ray Petty; six sisters, Grace Arnold, Bernice William, Muriel Wiseman, Hazel Landers, Betty Petty, and Avis Arnold, and four brothers, Willard Arnold, Lowell Arnold, Bobby Joe Arnold and Robert "Sonny" Arnold.

Friends may call on Tuesday April 3, 2018, after 10:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri until time of service at 12:00 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Wayne Burchett of Broseley officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Gardens in Marble Hill, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
