Marvin Roberts, the son of the late William Prentess and Letha Mofield Roberts, was born in rural Essex, Missouri on June 30, 1915, and passed away at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri on April 7, 2008, at the age of 92 years, 9 months and 8 days.
Mr. Roberts had lived in Southeast Missouri all his life and had lived in Bloomfield, Missouri since 1995. He had attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Dexter and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during WWII.
On August 2, 1952, he was married to Hester Faye Paisley in Piggott, Arkansas.
Surviving are one son, Bill Roberts of Bloomfield, Missouri; one step-daughter, Carolyn Mills of Everett, Washington; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Flecie Boone of Flint, Michigan, Ruth McBride of Dexter, Missouri; two brothers, Tom Roberts of St. Louis, Missouri and Doyle Roberts of Tacoma, Washington. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Shane Mallard of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
