Marvin David Lafferty

Marvin D. Lafferty, the son of Goldie Gipson Lafferty and the late Orvel Lafferty, was born in Gatewood, Missouri on May 16, 1952, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on June 7, 2006, at the age of 54 years and 22 days. Mr. Lafferty was raised in Southeast Missouri, had spend twenty years in Houston, Texas and returned to Missouri in 1992, and was a resident of Advance. He had worked as a manager at Triple D Uniforms in Houston, Texas. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church in Aquilla, Missouri. He was marred to Brenda Lafferty who makes her home in Perryville, Missouri. Other survivers include one son, Eric Lafferty of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Jennifer Penn of Houston, Texas; his mother, Goldie Lafferty of Bloomfield, Missouri; two grandchildren; four brothers, William T. Lafferty of Dallas, Texas, Donald L. Lafferty and James R. Lafferty both of Bloomfield, Missouri, Jerry L. Lafferty of Advance, Missouri; and one sister, Annette K. Roberts of Bloomfield, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter A. and Edward R. Lafferty. A visitation is scheduled on Friday, June 9, 2006, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church in Aquilla, Missouri with memorial services to follow at 11:00 AM.
