Marvin DeJournett, the son of the late Marshall and Mary Annis DeJournett, was born near Gray Ridge, Missouri on April 30, 1924, and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on November 7, 2008, at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 8 days.
Mr. DeJournett had woked for General Motors in maintenence. He had been a resident of Michigan for 30 years before moving back to Dexter in 1982. He was of the Baptist faith.
On June 13, 1947 he was married to Margaret Popps at Piggott, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on October 18, 2006.
Surviving are one brother, Wiley DeJournett of Dexter, Missouri; one sister, Kathleen Givens of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Lloyd, Cletus, Woodrow, Clemmer, Cleo, and Milo DeJournett.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 9, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, November 10, 2008, at 11:00 AM at the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
