Martha Ann Powell Cooper
Martha Ann Powell Cooper, the daughter of the late Clarence Edward and Lettie Jane Hutchcraft Powell, was born in Dudley, Missouri on January 4, 1933, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on July 22, 2008, at the age of 75 years, 6 months and 18 days.
Mrs. Cooper had lived in St. Louis for many years and moved to Dexter in 1980. She was of the Pentecostal Faith.
On November 6, 1963, she was married to Robert Vernon "Coop" Cooper in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2002.
Surviving are five sons, Thomas Ready of Ark City, Kansas, Donald Ready of Nashville, Tennessee, Charles Powell and Robert Cooper both of Dudley, Missouri, Edward Cooper of New Albany , Indiana; five daughters, Charlotte Diane Turner of Calvert, Alabama, Frances Powell of Fisk, Missouri, Charlotte Mae Kitchen and Carolyn Jordan both of Morehouse, Missouri, Lynn Hunsaker of Dexter, Missouri; forty grandchildren; many great grandchildren; four brothers, James Powell of St. Paul, Minnesota, Henry Powell of Bernie, Missouri, Albert Powell of Piedmont, Missouri, Bill Powell of Fulton, Missouri; three sisters, Sylvia Rogers and Faye Seeber both of Licking, Missouri, Elizabeth O'Conner of Dexter, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Webb, and two brothers, Gene and Thomas Powell and two sisters, Kaye Martin and Cloeatus Upchurch.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday July 25, 2008 at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2008, at 1:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter, Missouri officiating
Interment will be in the Dudley Cemetery in Dudley, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
