Marilou Payne, daughter of Maxine Goode Simmons and the late William T. Simmons was born in Parma, Missouri on August 31, 1939, and passed away at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee on September 16, 2011, at the age of 72 and 16 days.
She had lived in Parma, Missouri most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Parma, Missouri. She had worked in home health as a nurses aid.
On June 14, 1965, she was married to Alvin Oscar Payne in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Surviving are her husband, Alvin Oscar Payne of Parma, Missouri; one son, Timothy Allen Payne of Millington, Tennessee; her mother, Maxine Goode Simmons of Parma, Missouri; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Gary Simmons of Malden, Missouri; and one sister, Shirley Harris of Dexter, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Jerry Simmons.
Friends may visit on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at 10:00 am in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Parma, Missouri with the Rev. Kerry Stokes of Charleston, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
