Maria Medlin

Maria Acencion Perez-Medlin, daughter of the late Jose Cruz and San Juana Corona Perez, was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 22, 1952, and passed away in Dexter, Missouri on August 22, 2010 at the age of 58 years and 3 months. Mrs. Medlin moved to Southeast Missouri as a young girl and attended the Richland Schools. She had lived in Dexter most of her life. She had worked as a packer in the shipping department at Arvin Automotive. She enjoyed quilting. On August 27, 1994, she was married to David Denton Medlin in Dexter, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 13, 2009. Surviving are three children, Angela McCoy of Dexter, Missouri, Daniel Clonch of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Terri Buff of Farrell, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; one brother, Mattias Perez of Kilgore, Texas; three sisters, Marie Smith of Bell City, Missouri, Connie Miller of Marshfield, Missouri, Theresa Giardina of St. Louis, Missouri; and her fiance', George Harkness of Dexter, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Joe Perez and one sister, Sara Garza. Friends may call on Thursday, August 26, 2010, after 10:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2010, at 2:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Karen Oldham of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
