Margaret Elizabeth Cravens of Dexter, daughter of the late Vernie Spencer and Rosie Marie Blackburn Walker, was born in Cardwell, Misouri on May 1, 1923, and passed away at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston on March 10, 2017, at the age of 93 years, 10 months and 9 days.
She had lived in Southeast Missouri most of her life and in Dexter since 1973. She was a member of the Parma United Methodist Church.
On September 27, 1944, she was married to Dale M. Cravens in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1996.
Surviving are one son & wife, Jimmy Dale & Sandy Cravens of Dexter; two daughters, Marcia Beaird and Sherry & Sam Hector all of Dexter; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one brother, Jimmie Don Walker of Live Oak, Florida; two sisters, Martha Ann Patton of Live Oak, Florida and Sharion Faye Hershey of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Other relatives and many friends also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Margie Jackson and Mardell Qualls; three brothers, Vern "Bud" Walker, Jr., Bill Walker and Jackie Walker.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 12, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel with Rev. Ron Beaton of Dexter officiating.
Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
