Margaret Louise Shafer Corzine, daughter of the late Arthur and Euphemia Baird Ruckle was born in St. Louis Missouri on December 13, 1929, and passed away at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on February 11, 2010, at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 26 days. She had lived in the Dexter, Missouri area for the last thirty years moving here from Flint, Michigan. She was a member of the Faith Fellowship Full Gospel Church in Dexter. She was married to Arthur Lee Shafer, Sr. He preceded her in death in 1962. She was married to Jimmie D. Corzine, Sr. on September 9, 1988, he preceded her in death on April 21, 2007 Surviving are five sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur Lee, Jr and Cathie Corning Shafer of Durand, Michigan, Richard and Liz Shafer of Swartz Creek, Michigan, John and Loretta Shafer of Montrose, Michigan, Thomas Shafer of Burton, Michigan and Tim Shafer of Dexter, Missouri; two daughters and son-in-law, Janet and Rick Garcia of Columbia, Tennessee and Donna DeKruger of Mesa, Arizona; nineteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by one sister Janet Brewer, one grandson, Richie Shafer and one granddaughter, Althea Shafer. Visitation will be Saturday, February 13, 2010, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Services will be held Sunday, February 14, 2010, at 2:00 PM in the Faith Fellowship Full Gospel Church in Dexter with the Rev. Karen Oldham of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Armstead Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
