Malinda "Marie" Davis, daughter of the late C. J. & Mary Virginia Ellen Rector May, was born in Trousdale, Kansas on December 7, 1922, and passed away at the Lakeview Residential Care Center near Wappapello, Missouri on September 21, 2015, at the age of 92 years, 9 months and 14 days.
Mrs. Davis had lived most of her life in Essex. She was a member of the Olive Branch General Baptist Church in Essex and had worked as a floor supervisor at Elder Manufacturing in Dexter for many years. She enjoyed quilting.
On September 13, 1940, she was married to Charles Arden Davis in Bloomfield, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1994.
Surviving are one daughter, Luella "Lu" Smith of Wappapello, Missouri; six grandchildren, many great & great great grandchildren; and Ruthie Craig who she raised. Other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by three sons, Jerry F. , Jimmie G. and Harold Arden Davis; one brother, Charles May and Janie Davis who she raised.
Friends may visit from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter officiating.
Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
