Maggy Bess, daughter of the late Nolan Travis and Virginia Williams Thomason, was born in Harrell, Arkansas, on November 28, 1944, and passed away at her home in Puxico, Missouri on December 12, 2014, at the age of 70. Maggy had lived in Florida for 10 years and returned to Puxico where she has lived the past 18 years. She was a member of the Christian Church and most enjoyed spending time with her family. She worked for Mel's Diner in Puxico as a cashier. Surviving are two daughters, Bami (Michelle Kennedy) Parsons of Clearwater, Florida, Cindy (Randy) Martin of Puxico, Missouri; one grandson, Jarrett Martin of Puxico, one granddaughter, Jacie Parsons of Clearwater, Florida; three brothers, James (Wanda) Thomason and Royce (Shelby) Thomason both of Malden, Missouri and Ronnie (Nola) Thomason of Bernie, Missouri; one sister, Alice (Larry) Smith of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. Friends may visit Saturday, December 20, 2014, after 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri with Bro. Art Norris of Puxico, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Rock Point Cemetery near Swinton, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements. The family requests memorials be made to the Stoddard County Children's Home, PO Box 164, Dexter, MO 63841.
