Mable Neal, daughter of the late Johnie Wilson and Elizabeth Gertrude Wyman Payne was born in Essex, Missouri on August 30, 1925, and passed away at the Westwood Hills Healthcare Facility in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on January 9, 2010, at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 10 days.
She had lived in the Dexter, Missouri area most of her life. She was a member of the Liberty Hill General Baptist Church, and had worked as a seamstress for over 32 years at Elders Manufacturing, she then worked as a cook at Central Elementary School in Dexter for ten years.
On October 18, 1941, she was married to Jesse Lee Neal near Bloomfield, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2003.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruth Ann Sivley and Vicki Davison both of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Donald R. Payne of Essex, Missouri; one sister, Joyce "Polly" Tomaszewski of St. Louis, Missouri. Other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Lee Neal and Jimmy Dale Neal; one brother, Billy R. Payne and one sister, Mary Morris.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 12, 2010, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Rick White of Poplar Bluff, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
